A day after CEO Madhav Sheth’s not-so-cryptic Twitter tease, Realme has officially launched the limited Spider-Man Far From Home edition phone in China. The Spider-Man Far From Home edition of the Realme X is essentially the pearl white 8GB/128GB variant of the phone in question with a custom red-colour case thrown in – there's also a special retail box and themes to commemorate Realme’s collaboration with Marvel. Specs as well as price remains the same as the regular 8GB/128GB variant of the Realme X – that is CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs 18,000).

Just like the regular Realme X, its Spider-Man Far From Home edition also comes with a 6.53-inch 1080p+ AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. There’s Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 software and a 3,765mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 flash charge support. The phone also ditches a conventional fingerprint scanner for an optical in-display solution.

Speaking of cameras, the phone comes with a dual camera system on the rear consisting of a 48MP (Sony IMX 586) sensor and another 5MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography. On the front, it comes with a 16MP camera with a Sony IMX471 sensor – which is part of a pop-up mechanism.

The Realme X is a China-exclusive for now but Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth has started teasing the Realme X on Twitter – only recently he has changed his Twitter name to Madhav X, hinting at an imminent India launch. Rumor has it that Realme may launch the Realme X in India in July. There are also reports that Realme may launch the Realme X in India with slightly tweaked hardware.

Realme is also pre-screening Spider-Man Far From Home in Delhi on July 3, where select Realme fans will be able to watch the movie as well as receive a goodie bag – again hinting at the Realme X India launch, soon enough.

A July launch for the Realme X won’t be surprising because Xiaomi is also gearing to launch its Redmi K20 series in India in the same month. The Realme X could be Realme’s answer to the Redmi K20.
